Gift Certificates
Gift Certificates are available for the cooking classes. These make great gifts. Order a gift certificate to a particular class, or a general amount that can be applied to any class, such as $69 (a typical class fee). We will send gift certificate to you or the person receiving the gift.
Class Size
The kitchen can fit up to 16 participants. Everyone has a seat and is able to easily watch the instructor. Each class includes a packet of recipes, and plenty of food. The classes are generally demonstration style, unless noted. With this style you can comfortably watch and learn. There is often one hands-on component in each class.
Group Classes
We love for you to put together a group and work with us to create a custom class of your choosing. The minimum for this is 10 people. If you have fewer people, we can generally advertise the class and fill it with a few extra people, if you would like.
Groups can include a signed copy of one of Catherine’s books. Include a copy of the book for each participant, and you will receive a 15% discount off each book.

Allergies and Food Restrictions
We like to know if you or your guests have any food restrictions or allergies in advance of taking the class. Are you vegetarian, gluten free or just don’t like beets or broccoli? We can often make substitutions during class or try to change the recipes in advance, if you tell us.
Payment and Refund Policy
- All participants must register and pay for the classes in advance. Once a class is posted, spots are secured in the order that they are paid for.
- We accept payment with Paypal. Payment by check is fine also. Checks can be mailed to C. Walthers, Box 176, Chilmark MA 02535
- Refunds: If for some reason you cannot attend the class, please notify us immediately. You can receive a full refund up to 7 days before the class is held. After that you can fill your spot with a replacement.
Directions
From Alley’s General Store, West Tisbury
Go up South Road (also a continuation of State Road) 1/2 mile toward Chilmark/Aquinnah. You will pass the entering Chilmark sign and signs for the Grey Barn Farm on the left and the yoga barn on the right. Just past the yoga barn, you will pass a white street sign on the right marked Campbell road, the driveway to the kitchen classroom is the 2nd driveway after Campbell rd. (don’t go up Campbell Road) As you turn into my driveway on the right, you will see a small homemade green oval sign on a tree that reads: Walthers/Kelliher. You’ll see a stone wall, a house and barn.
(If you pass by a blue sign that reads Nab’s Corner, or the entrance to Quansoo with all the mail boxes, you’ve gone a bit too far)
